The Job:
Selection, testing and evaluation of commercial motor/electronic drive solutions for integration into Dyson products.
Skills Needed/Main Accountabilities:
Develop motor/electronic drive specifications with product design teams./Communication with motor suppliers./with Dyson Engineering, purchasing, production and current support teams./Carry out performance testing of motors/electronic drive systems./Assist with integration into product (ensuring Standards authority requirements are met)./Supervise life testing./Provide support during and following product launch.
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience Required:
Technically based work (design, technical selection, quality etc.) with electric motors (Essential)./Experience of high volume manufacturing (Desirable)./Work with simple electronic controls for vacuum cleaners (Desirable)./Degree in Electrical/Electronics' & Mechanical Engineering (Essential)./Mechatronic's background (Desirable)./Electrical/Electronic & Mechanical engineering. (Essential)./Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Desirable)./Knowledge of electric motors/controls and their integration into products./Understanding of statistical techniques and ability to interpret reliability data./Ability to manage time effectively between multiple projects/suppliers./Aptitude for problem solving./Good verbal and written communication skills./Team player but with ability to work in isolation when required.
