The Job:
Reporting to a Supply Chain Manager with responsibility for the identification, development and effective management of suppliers to fulfill current and future business requirements in Asia./Proactive and inventive in providing best cost solutions in a global market. Working in collaboration with representatives from other departments, as required, to deliver individual and team targets./To provide best cost solutions for current and development products and services, from a global supply base, to maximize the impact on business performance.
Skills Needed/Main Accountabilities:
Business/Identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities./Market awareness for commodity area./Management of assigned projects, meeting deadlines, as appropriate./Participation in value engineering exercises./To achieve results by the application of appropriate purchasing techniques./To build working relationships with other internal departments, e.g. quality, planning, engineering, finance./Ownership and delivery of budget targets./Processing/Maintenance of cost data and Purchase Order price using appropriate Purchasing systems and procedures./Participation in the internal change process./Contribution to the continuous improvement of the Supply Chain department./Suppliers/Identification and selection of suppliers for current and new parts and services./Development and management of suppliers: regular reviews/visits/supplier appraisals./To lead the supplier appraisal process, supported by other departments./Identification of supplier-related continuous improvement opportunities./Negotiation of supply agreements with suppliers, making use of appropriate documentation
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience Required:
A proficient communicator in English and Mandarin and other Chinese dialects./Sound commercial acumen, intelligent, quick-thinking, alert./Assertive, prepared to follow through plans to completion and overcome obstacles./Naturally inquisitive, proactive and innovative, determined to identify solutions./Team player, personable, clear communicator, comfortable with all levels./Self-motivated, dynamic and results-driven./Ethical, with integrity./Bright, numerate and literate with good analytical and presentation skills./PC Literate, ideally in Microsoft Office./Proven track record of delivery within a challenging commercial environment.
